Streaming Live audio and video
Ok I have yet another question...
I know Surpass supports streaming audio and video. I am trying to setup a live auidio simulcast. This will be just audio at the present time. I wanted to know if this will be possible with Surpass? If this is possible can anyone direct me to a decent program for live audio broadcasts. Thanks, :thunderst |

I'm with this guy here, wanting to the same thing. Kinda wanted to have an occasional podcast and such that would be a recorded live streaming session.
Kinda like an "Ask Renee". |

First, Suzume your avatar is from the episode where the shapeshifter guy is being Mulder and trying to sleep with Scully isn't it?
As for live audio broadcasting, I don't think their servers are setup for this. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure just streaming and broadcasting aren't the same thing.

I can't remember for sure, but I think it is. I loved those two episodes! Different, that was for sure. Big X-Files fan? I am!
Yeah, I kinda changed my mind about the live streaming of video/audio. It would make it hard on some viewers in different timezones to be able to see it, so I'm just going to upload pre-recorded video instead. The streaming I was interested in was for a live podcast thing I was going to set up where I answered some visitors questions live, but that just doesn't sound practical like I mentioned above. |

You can use Windows Media Encoder and archive the live feed at the same time. This allows your users to listen live and then those who could not hear it can come back and archive the show anytime.
I have my computer set up to do live streaming. There is a problem with doing it that way becasue you are at risk security wise as the address to use in Windows Media Player is my ip address. As you can tell this has not been used, only tested. I have been told that you have got to have a windows media server to broadcast live. That way you can oush the feed out to that server, creating a new address for the link. Right now I have encoder pulling the feed from my IP. Hope that helped. I too am looking for a dedicated server for streaming. |
