Downgrading question

I am currently on the Deluxe plan right now.

Looking at my stats, I'm only using 91 MB of space right now and I only do around 1 GB of transfer a month, so I'm thinking of downgrading to the Lite plan, at least for the first year.

Deluxe is $110 and Lite is $40, so that's $70 in savings, right? Well the sales person I am currenting dealing with is telling me that I have to pay for the 3 months of the Deluxe plan I've already used AND pay the $40 for the Lite plan. I could have sworn I read somewhere here on the boards that if you wanted to downgrade, you could do so and get all your money back. Since I've never gone over the limits of the Lite plan, it's like I've always been on the Lite plan anyways. So wouldn't it make sense that I buy the $40 Lite plan, and then be refunded the $110 from the Deluxe? Is the customer service person wrong, or did I mis-read the forums at some point?

Let me be honest with you, Gherkin.
You don't think you should pay for the 3 months you had hosting?

Actually, I think where you're confused is that when you pay for the Lite plan, it starts right then and there. You don't roll back to your original start up date, it doesn't work like that. That would mean you would get a partial refund and not the full 110. Then say you pay for the Lite plan today and get the Lite specs, and it's as if you never had Deluxe (except you did have it for 3 months, and have to pay for that. Again, the start up date of your account doesn't roll back).

yep, that's where I was confused. I thought that when I switched down to Lite, the plan would still end a year after the initial Deluxe was bought.

Sorry for the confusion.

And with my current stats that I posted, does anyone see a reason that I definitely SHOULDN'T downgrade? I mean that's about $50 in savings, I would like to get that back if my site can manage on the Lite plan. I do expect the site to constantly get more and more traffic, but I don't see it ever going over 15 GB of transfer within a year if I'm only currently using 1 GB a month.

Yes, Surpass needs the money so they can keep our sites up and running.

Gherkin, if you can paste me the ticket IDs you have in the helpdesk so I can check it out and make sure everything is taken care of.
