Question about command line.

Greetings!

I'm trying to install a perl script and when I access it via my browser it get the following:

Quote:
You must run this script from the command line.
I assume this refers to shell access? And if so, is that available on shared plans?

Thanks!

Yes, you need shell access to reach the command line.

I believe that it might be available for a small fee.

As far as i know Shell-access are NOT avaiable anymore.... (Security-reasons)

But. I assume.. If you ask the surpass staff to do it for you.. They might do it when they have some spare time...

And hope that it doesn't require any user input.

of course... but you can also pass input from a file, right? so, if you have some input variables, you have the script read the 'input.txt' file, where you include those inputs....

No offense to Etan, but if they were questioning whether shell access was related to the command line, I doubt shell script writing would be on their resumé.

I believe that support would be more than happy to install it for you if you ask, Etan.

Exactly! Thanks for putting it so eloquently

There's a manual config file for what I'm trying to do, it's just a matter of the devs reccomending doing via the perl script. I'll have a looksie and see what I can figure out.

Thanks for the input!
