People viewing my files

Hi, =) Is there any way I can stop people from viewing my files? Such as, if you go here: "http://frozenangel.net/pages/" you can see all the files under that folder. I have people direct linking my files - that I've never had a link - to because they are looking through them and getting something they want (that they shouldn't be having) and I was wondering if I could stop that?

Create a new file in that folder called .htaccess

In there put ONLY the following, which is case sensitive, by the way:

Options -Indexes

Correct me if I'm wrong, you can put a blank index.html file there and it will stop that aswell.

Log into cPanel (http://www.yourdomain.com:2082) and find the icon labeled Index Manager then click on the name, not the folder icon, of the directory you want to set. Select No Indexes and click Save.

Just so you know, that isn't going to stop them from linking to the files themselves.

If they have a link to yourdomain.com/pages/ then they will not see an index. however, if they link to yourdomain.com/pages/page.html, they can access it. To make sure that no one but you can access this directory password protect it with cpanel, or an easier way is to just rename the folder so the links to it dont work.

you can also lock down the directory using file manager, or forbid HTTP access of a directory without credentials.

both are available via cpanel.
