Do you own the domain name xyz.com?

http://whois.sc/XYZ.COM

It has been registered since 1994.

You still have to register the domain name.

ok, i have to register a domain name, i understand this part now. thankx bassdaddy

another question about the e-mail that comes with domain name... Surpass is charging domain name for $15.99 a year. and it also says that i will have 100 e-mail forwarding facilities. what does that means? ( is that i am allowed to have up to a maximum of 100 email for my registered domain name?). if true, then Power Share hosting package says i can have unlimited e-mail accounts. I'm confused.... can i have more the 100 e-mail or it's limited by 100 only.

another question, at ipowerweb.com, they are selling domain name for $5.50, but when i checked the e-mail forwarding thigy with thier sales rep, said i will have only one pop3 e-mail account with 2 megabyte data space, which cannot be forward or redirect. Is that mean if i were to purchase domain name from ipower.com, i will not have the e-mail feature for my hosting at surpass?

Will there be any limitation at all by purchasing domain name from another site. (i know that techinical support i need for domain name is comes from the site i purchase from, but beside this eg: e-mails, speed of retriving data by my web-user etc.)

Thankx

If you don't buy hosting from us but you do buy a domain, then you can have email forwards.

Since you are buying a plan with us, you don't need to worry about what it says on SurpassDomains. That is for people who just buy a domain only and no hosting for it.

Sorry, I see some weird stuff going on everyday so I thought of that as what you wanted, and not as an example.

You could register elsewhere and then point the domain at Surpasses nameservers.

You apparently will be unable to *transfer* the domain anywhere for some amount of time, but it's the nameserver deal that is important..it's what tells the world where the website is hosted.
