gif images not showing?

i dont know if this is even an issue, but for some reason my gif formatted images aren't being displayed. when i right click on properties, they seemed to have been resized as well...and they're blank. all other file formats seem to work properly (.png, jpg...) .. just not gif. does it have anything to do with the compuserve patent, or nothing at all? thanks if anyone could explain.

(and yes, uploaded them in binary mode)

im using the .png version of the banner now, but the transparency isn't supported by internet explorer. heres the link to it:

(offline, the gif version displays just fine , but after i've uploaded it, that is what it looks like...)

Hmm, since your live version uses the .png banner, I've mirrored it and made it use the .gif banner. (So I can test it.) It looks fine..

Maybe it didn't work for you since your CSS file is cached by your browser and it's still looking for the PNG version?

erm.. for some reason it's still not showing up on my browsers.. neither ie, mozilla, netscape, opera, or firefox... could possibly have something to do with the cpanel? something i need to enable for the subdomain? probably not im guessing.

oh yeah, the gif images don't appear also in another subdomain:

but they do offline...this subdomain doesnt even use css, save for the splash page.

Looks fine to me. Clear you cache and revisit?

Hmm, strange. I've viewed my logs and it seems that none of the other visitors' browsers even requested banner.gif. So, it isn't surpass's fault.

Look at the modified page now. It now uses a <img> tag instead of choppy CSS, so it should now work for everyone.

Hmm, the last time I checked, that site was using the .png version.
