Domain set-up questions
Hi,
I have set up a domain and a hosting account using surpass. All is working correctly. Lets call the domain sir.com. Now, I have another domain which I now want to use to be the primary domain to appear in the web browser when the site is visited - lets call this one pass.com. This other domain is registered with a different registrar. The domain I have registered with surpass (sir.com) I want to redirect to the 'pass.com' domain, and show the website (hosted by surpass). Whats the best way of setting this up? I guess I need to get the registrar of pass.com to set the domain to point to the surpass hosting, and then set-up the surpass-registered domain to redirect to it. Is that right? These may be noddy questions (and not very well asked) so apologies, i'm relatively new to this... Thanks in advance, Roger. |

you have the gist of it, sir.
basically you will adjust the DNS servers of your pass.com domain to point to the same ones as your sir.com domain does. then email support and tell them you want to add on the domain to your sir.com hosted account. depending on your hosting package there may/ may not be a 1 time 15 dollar charge. support can also set up the redirection for you. |

OK, so I've tried to purchase an add-on domain for my hosting account - how long will it take before it gets processed and I'll be able to set up the second domain to point to the web hosting?

The name servers change has been already (I think...) - now when you go to the website (real URL http://www.siruaisafaris.com) you just a holding page. If you try that URL does that look right - as if siruaisafaris.com isn't set up yet as an addon domain to my hosting account?
