Are you using proxify?
Just for a heads up, if one is going to be an internet moron, one might want to avoid using an anonymous proxy with any sort of ties to pegasus web services which appears to have had a previous business relationship with surpasshosting.
Proxify does appear to be involved with pegasus, and some of the customers of surpass you may be inconveniencing might be more local than others and might relish making life annoying via local authorities. In some locales, interfering with competitors customers through means that might be considered in violation of sections of recent onerous federal legislation could be regarded as a federal or local crime, and quite possibly a felony. It's easiest for everyone if people just behave politely. |

proxify.com would be an anonymous proxy. If you have been with surpass long enough and had any issues that caused you to use any sysadmin tools to look up problems, you learned your server was co-located at pegasus web hosting.
These days, you'll find it is colocated at the hostdime NOC. Proxify appears to be at the very least hosted amongst the pegasus block of IPs, which would generally indicate at least some sort of business realtionship with pegasus. the odds of a for hire proxy service that apparantly has a fair ammount of issue with script kiddies fraudulently using someone elses credit cards, I would guess that in the face of a federal warrant, all sorts of surprisingly non anonymous logs would all of a sudden sprout up at the anonymous proxy's end of the world. Or at the very least, proxify would go away. Fat internet pipes tend to have monthly bills large enough to have someone at the other end of them who doesn't want to go to jail or get sued. So even if it is just a run of the mill idiot coincidentally causing people headaches with proxify, they might want to consider switching proxies. of course if they do and keep it up, a smart monkey can figure out who was causing the hassles. |

Momma, make the bad man stop. He's scaring me! :ma:
What on earth are you talking about? You are on a public forum talking of specific things. Please, either explain in detail what you are talking about or take it somewhere private.

justanotheruser likes his explanations long i guess.
anyway - a proxy in in this case is a way for one machine to act on behalf of another. say you want to access a web site - you could go through a proxy server - and that box would make the HTTP requests on your behalf. kinda like that. |
