[FTP] Before I go crazy........
Can someone confirm that the public_ftp folder is unusable by all but the main account- yes I know surpass has disabled cPanel anonymous ftp which uses that folder.
And yes, I can create FTP accounts no problem. I'd just like to get them out from under my public_html folder, and back over to the public_ftp folder as the default. As it is now, I can see no way to do this. |

I think that public FTP is only for 'anon' users, which are disabled.
When you create FTP accounts you set their base directory in Public_html. This is to maintain compatiblity with subdomains and such. I don't believe these users have permission to navigate outside their home.

Bigjohn is on the money here. The FTP accounts cannot get outside of their directory, which is created under public_html. It's a partial security/compatibility design comprimise.
It shouldn't matter though. If you are worried about someone viewing those directories through http and getting files from them, you can password protect the directories through Cpanel, or just add a blank index.html page in each directory as needed.
