Do I have to have that thing on in my site, can't I just be a part of it without the what-you-mac-call-it? So if everytime someone visits my site it counts as a point or I have to have it to get the point??

You could always use CSS to hide it somewhere. But you do have to have it if you want to college the hits.

So it can be in some far far far remote corner of my site?
Do people click on it or just visiting my site is enough?

Well, for instance you could do a class like:

hideit {
position: absolute;
top: -50px;
}

That would have it hidden off the page, but it would still register. There's no agreement saying you're required to have it visible, but I still think it's somewhat unfair to do that. I shoved mine at the bottom left corner.

They don't have to click it, just have to visit the site to register the hits.

That would explain why some of the sites I see in the list don't seem to have that thing. I can see the reason some sites don't want it though...I haven't put my hosting site on it because that would be pointless. People would visit that link and say "hmm, I wonder what Surpasshosting is...HOLY CRAP LOOK AT THESE PRICES! FORGET DAVE! HE SUCKS!"....not like they don't say that already, but you get the idea.

Yeah, I don't mind having it on my site. I'm not a reseller and I refer all of my clients to Surpass Hosting if I can (though others seems to want a local provider.) It's what? 88x33 or something? It's puny and not a big deal. I guess I sort of already have a link to Surpass on my site, but hey.. two doesn't hurt.
