The easiest way to upload files is to get an FTP program like CuteFTP or WSFTP. A google search will turn up a few free ones. If you're on a MAC, try Transmit. Upload files to the public_html directory. Call the first page you want a visitor to see index.htm or index.html

You should have that info in your welcome letter. When you say the website is set up, I preume you mean the account is set up by Surpass.

Also, domain names take time to propogate through the naming servers. It is possible, if you've just set things up, that this hasn't happened. In that case, the surpass welcome email should have details of how to get into your site until this happens.

You should be able to just put the IP address of the server, or your domain name as the host address, such as www.domain.com

The ftp address will be: ftp.yourdomain.com
Enter the username and password and you will see some folders and other things. You will want to put your updated files in a folder entitled "Public HTML", actually public_html. Since you are trying to put some files which already exist you have to "overwrite" those which your FTP client will ask you to do. |
