Crimson Editor
If anyone is familiar with crimson editor you'll know that you can log on with your FTP info and directly edit files. Well, I've got a problem dealing with my FTP info and Crimson Editor. When I put in my info and try to connect I get the following information:
Failed to logon to remote server. 220-You are user number 2 of 50 allowed. Why won't it let me log on? I'm filling in the following information: FTP server: phantoms-opera.com Username: user phantoms-opera.comPassword: password The user and password don't exist. They are an example of what would normally go into those slots. |

can you login using that from a command line?
Is crimson configured to use PASV? If so, disable it.

dunno. I don't use it. Should be somewhere in the FTP configuration/setup.

if you are logging on with a username that requires an
symbol, try username%40domain.com as your username instead of username domain.com

I'm looking at the input for ftp server and it should be: ftp.phantoms-opera.com
That might be your problem.

If the FTP client is set to port 21, it wouldn't matter as the ftp://ftp. is just to notify the program of the protocol in use. I believe I login to most, if not all, of my FTP accounts without it.
Actually wait a sec... Have you attempted to login to this FTP account through a normal FTP client? If you can verify the same data works in an FTP client but not the web application, you might want to ask for support on the applications web site. |
