Thinking of which, everyone do you use the same password for everything?
I always have done, even though I know I shouldn't - it's just I wouldn't remember if they're all different. My password would be pretty impossible to guess, but even so... ![]() Last edited by Traill; May 31st, 2005 at 7:04 AM.. |

I have two different passwords. One really hard/long one for important things and one just for everything else.

And I try to use a different password for everything important (such as cPanel accounts--each is generated randomly and I just memorize it). For unimportant stuff such as my little-used email accounts it varies between two and three hard-to-guess ones.

I have around 10 different passwords now. Which is why I have so much trouble logging in everywhere, I've forgotten which ones I use where, and I always end up guessing the right one last, which usually locks me out of my account for trying so many times. Firefox's remember my password thign has spoiled me.

I have 3 levels of passwords:
1. Easy, guessable (by people that know me) ones that are used at work, or anything work related. I have 2 I use. 2. More difficult, and an entirely different convention than the ones used for work. These can be given to family members if needed (my boyfriend knows some). If the password was compromised (fat chance! they are #'s letter's and 10 characters long), I wouldn't die. There are about 5 that get used. 3. #'s, letters, Uppercase, Lowercase, Extended ASCII keys.... No one has these passwords except me. Only 2 are used. Also, I don't allow my browser (Firefox/IE) to remember my password(s). I like to give my brain something to do, and it helps me to remember them. Ya...I'm neurotic ![]()

Absolutely. What's the point in allowing your browser to remember passwords? It completely defeats the point of having one in the first place!
Plus, other people can access your stuff - you never know when it may happen, burglaries etc. On a *completely* irrelevant note, in football England have just beaten Columbia 3-2 with our B team, going well after the USA win previously earlier (bet I get some ribbing for that now!) so I'm quite drunk and happy ![]() Last edited by Traill; May 31st, 2005 at 7:10 PM.. |
