Using a back up
I've been having horrible problems with my galleries. I'm just losing my mind here. I submitted a ticket to surpass and no offense, but they didn't help me much, plus they used a really old back up for my galleries. They helped me but they didn't do much for me and I'm desperate to leave my galleries like they were before I made that upgrade with corrupted files.
I created a back up before I upgraded my galleries, luckily. The problem is that I don't know how to use it. Can anyone help me? |

What type of backup do you have? If it is a full backup, then Surpass can restore it, you'll need to go through the help desk to have them restore that backup

It's a full back up. I already asked suprass to help me use the back up but they say the back up is corrupted too. Which I don't understand. My galleries were working perfect until I did the upgrade. Then they helped using a really old back but the problems persist. There are sections that I can't see. Visitors get error messages and such.

Ok why question is, are you talking about a full SQL back up, File and file Structure back up, or both.
If you have a local saved SQL back up, you can use PhpMyAdmin to import it yourself. (I would make a backup of whats there first, to avoid an issues if your copy is corrupt) If it's a file back up, just simply FTP it to the server. if you want to be really safe, you can wipe the files on the server to start with (this would remove any corrupt data) then upload your backup. (again I would make a backup of whats there first, to avoid an issues if your copy is corrupt)

well if it's files, i would backup whats there (current site), wipe it and upload again, if you get the same site back after you do that, that means your backup was also corrupt.
past that, if you don't have a differnet bakup to use. then i think you might be looking at rebuilding/recreating what your missing. ![]()

What server are you on?
If PHPsuexec is enabled, you can't have anything 777 or that would generate an error message. Chmod stuff back to 755 and 644 and thatmight get things working (if PHPsuexec is on the server...) Info? |
