Help - Getting Two Kinds of Errors

My site was working fine until about half an hour ago, when suddenly these two errors popped up:

When I try to access my forums (http://www.hansoloprincess.org/forum) I get this error:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

When I try to access my efiction site (http://www.hansoloprincess.org/efiction) I get this error:

_FATALERROR _NOTCONNECTED

Does anyone know what these errors mean and what to do? I'm really worried they mean my site has been hacked!

In cPanel under MySQL Databases go to the ones related to those and click on repair and look again. If not fixed I'd say submit a ticket to support at the help desk and have them check it out.

Sounds like something is up with the MySQL service on your server. You might check your cPanel and then click on the Service Status view to see if it is running or if there are any other problems.

Might send a ticket to http://desk.surpasshosting.com/ to have support take a look at the mysql service and/or your databases.

Thanks for the help! I tried the repair option but it didn't seem to make a difference, so I'll try sending a help ticket.

If it is a problem with the MySQL service, does that usually mean that I just have to wait a while and it will come back up, or do I have to do something to reconnect to it again?

I see my MySQL reset/reboot now and then and it is rather fast. This looks like yours has flat out stopped and needs to be restarted. Support will have to do that if the case.
