Please Help
Greetings.
I would like to ask for help regarding a WordPress issue. I was not sure where to post this, since I didn't really see a Wordpress Forum Category. I do apologize if this is not the right place to ask this. I just upgraded to Wordpress 2.2 (latest Release) and I am having these following issues. 1.) This comes up whenever I login to my Wordpress Site Admin ----------------------------------- http://www.denofmusic.com/wp-admin/ " 70.0.0.0 (IP Address witheld)" /wp-admin/index-extra.php?jax=devnews www.denofmusic.com Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 403 http://www.denofmusic.com/wp-admin/ 70.145.173.193 /wp-admin/index-extra.php?jax=planetnews www.denofmusic.com Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 403 ------------------------------------ and also ----------------------------- Latest Activity http://www.denofmusic.com/wp-admin/ 70.0.0.0 (IP Address witheld) /wp-admin/index-extra.php?jax=incominglinks www.denofmusic.com Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3 403 ------------------------------ Plus, on all of my written posts, the apostrophe ( ' ) and the quotes ( " ), were replaced as ( ’ ) and ( “ ) accordingly. How do I fix these issues? Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Den

Had a looksie at your blog and the apostrophes and quotes looked normal to me. Well, I am using the IE7 render engine (using the Maxthon browser) and they displayed as the slanted open and close double quotes, not the standard straight up and down double quote.
I also updated my blog to 2.2 using their detailed upgrade instructions. I went looking for a post on mine that had some double quotes. What do they look like to you. http://blog.markheadrick.com/index.p...t-job-hunting/ Those other errors are the result of javascripts that your browser is executing. You might be executing out of date javascripts from your cache. You might want to delete your temporary internet files to make it download the newer javascript source files.

Hello Mark. Thank you for your reply.
I have fixed the first page of my site, with the right apostrophes and quotes. The rest, they are still whacked. I looked at the page your page and they all look fine. I also used IE7 to view my site with the same problem. I also tried to export the xml file, and opened it, with all apostrophes and quotes messed up too. I also cleared up my cache and temp files, just as you suggested, still the same errors show up. Thank you for your help, since I am pretty much out of ideas. What else do you think it could be? Sincerely, Ty

Read some more articles and did find some posts with the messed up quotes. You might try going into your profile settings and uncheck the option to use the visual editor, change the offending quotes and re-save the article to see what happens.
You might ask in the Wordpress support. I did find an article discussing the issue that others have had concerning this: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/119611?replies=10

The other stuff appears to be a mod_security issue
From reading this: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/117944?replies=27 You might try adding the following to your .htaccess in your blog's directory Code:
<Files index-extra.php> SecFilterInheritance Off </Files>

Thank you Sir Mark.
That Dashboard error fix, worked like a charm. I just tried to use the "Search and Replace - Plugin", to fix all the messed up characters. Thank you so much for your help. Best, Ty

Glad yah got working.
![]() Guess I didn't run into the problem since I disabled the SecFilterEngine as I ran into mod_security problems when creating posts that has certain text patterns in them.. I'll have to check out that Search and Replace plugin.. looks like it could come in handy, thanks.
