How to put a website in the Finders, Websearchers?

Hi!
I just come up with this question
and I'm wondering how you guys put your website on Google search for example?
or other web finders...
just using meta-tags or using another tool?

Cause I'm looking for put my forum up on some finder, but even when I send my web URL to google, I can't get visits I don't know why
I already upload some words for the meta description.
Can someone post some ideas for get better on the finders ??
greets

It's not that simple. You can't follow the phrase... "If you build it they will come"... because they won't. You've got to "promote" your site. "Promoting" doesn't necessarily mean paying for advertising, you can promote through social networking sites such as technorati, stumbleupon, digg... etc.

What it really comes down to though is publishing content that people want to read, not what you just felt like writing, or you think might be interesting. You need to write something that you know for certain others will be interested in.

www.namepros.com and www.sitepoint.com have some dedicated search engine optimization sections that should equip you with everything you need to know.

Good luck!

And you must give it time before site is seen in some or most search sites, doesn't really happen overnight, may take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month to get listed.
