Free SSL certs are easy. I could make you one. The question is whether or not they're recognized by major browsers... That's usually the trick, their certs probably aren't recognized by firefox, opera, safari.. or that other one.. what's it called again? ..

oh yeah, internet explorer.

without that recognition, users get a warning. Following that link, it shows up as startSSL, which is not recognized by .. opera from what I can see. More research will return more info..

Thank you for your input.

Yeah, I noticed that, IE and FF both show the alert window, it's not recognized by them.

I actually don't need a big deal certificate. I'm using the shared SSL on my Windows server with Hostdime just to provide a gateway for the Visanet components used by osCommerce stores hosted on Linux servers and it was working fine so far, but lately, due to a Plesk bug, the secure pages have been removed every time there's a Plesk update, which is breaking my gateway sometimes for hours!

So support advised to get my own SSL, but I really didn't want to pay for one right now (budget cuts due to financial issues - has anyone heard of it lately?? haha). That's why I'm looking for a free one.

Godaddy sells them cheap. So does surpass. I think surpass sells them cheaper than godaddy, but I don't remember off hand.
