I give them a 9; nobody's perfect. After an early hiccup with billing not releasing my account for setup, it's been a cakewalk. Moved site from Verizon (very slow customer service, few site features, limited capacity for quadruple the price). Site moved quite easily and DNS nameserver changes promulgated in a few hours. Email came right up (usually another big thorn). Even handles Frontpage quite handily. Host seems highly available and rather speedy. Like the webmail options. First time using cpanel, very impressed - lots of detailed control - redirection, blocking, error message customization.

I just wish they would have a support phone number, instead of just email. I suppose this is one way to keep costs down.

We are slowly getting into some new technologies, if by cool you mean Ruby programming and the like. We can't jump into too many at one time. Basics first, then extras.

Well, I'd give a rousing 9.99 points! Outside of a minor snafu at first, Surpass has been absolutely wonderful. I just wouder why it took me so long to find them.

Keep up the excellent work......

10+ for me! I went through several paid hosts before trying Surpass. That was 2-1/2 years ago! Which is like 20 years in hosting years. Almost three years without having to worry about hosting. It's awesome. When problems to come up it's resolved quickly.

Surpass has been superb with my servers uptime just under 99.8% for the year (via SiteUptime). They admittedly did have a very rough period during last years hurricane season and move. What sold me was the way their support & IT staff responded and dealt with the issues (including some really over-the-top irate customers).

Surpass seems to have found the right model for success in this brutally competitive business. I do hope that as they expand, they can continue to find good people to hire.

Up and Running for 2 weeks

I switched over from Verizon Web hosting a bit over 2 weeks ago. Everything went smoothly, including the script changes. I did need a bit of help modifying the guestbook script pathnames (since I'm not a UNIX wonk.)

Tech support is very, very responsive, but admittedly, they are not Frontpage knowledgeable. finally figured out that the temp. ip address for publishing wouldn't work for FP. It needed a dns address.

First experience with cPanel, Love it. Guess it's the stuff you guys take for granted.

Web mail is much better interface than Verizons.

Am very pleased with the overall GB per $ value proposition. Far exceeds Verizons.

Best of all, Surpass support is centralized. Verizon had me bouncing all over the place. The phone company is definitely masters at the "hold" and "transfer" call buttons, with nobody taking responsbility. The bureacracy there is incredibly huge.

I like the email responsiveness to problems, but I sure wish they had a phone number. Would have helped a refugee who needed a bit of "warm and fuzzies" when making the transition. guess that's how they save some $$

Thumbs up

Definitely a 10 from me. I am very pleased with all aspects of the service. I have found support to be quick, polite and most importantly, helpful. And the value with Surpass is incredible.
