This is my very first paid host. I've always been hosted by those crappy hosts that deleted my files without any notice. I remember I was hosted by hiya-host and after a month they decided to close down and didn't say anything to their users, so ALL of my files were deleted! Everything! And I = young and dumb didn't even had a backup. Then I found an old account on another server that had about 60% of my files (oh, I was so happy) and decided to stay with them, but after a month they.... yes, closed down. They terminated all of the free accounts immideately, but thanks God I had a backup on my computer. After that I found another free host, but after a few weeks... no, they didn't close down, I bought an account at Surpass! I think I'm a happy person now!

Well I left because they got rid of their reseller program. My mom is being hosted by me and right away told me to find a new host. I went to a topic on thefanlistings site and saw a lot of people recommended this one. I can't wait to transfer all my sites over and get that out the way.

I'd been through about 5 hosts before I came to Surpass. I've been hosting here for about three years now. The only complaint I have is that it seems like recently Surpass has really slow support. I remember it used to take 15 minutes to get a reply and now you're lucky if you only have to wait 15 hours. However, it still beats hour support that never answers you and is rude, both of which I have experienced with past hosts.

What made me leave?

Well, I wouldn't so much say leave, as have the server vanish, with all content on it.

I signed up with Surpass on the one love promotion due to the price and the package. Much more space and bandwidth that my previous host could offer, at a damn good price too, with the intention of getting a second domain name to point at my old hosting so I could use it as a file dump and photo gallery area.

By the time I had got around to moving my current content here and sorting out the second domain name, my old host had 'vanished' in the sense that the ftp access no longer worked, cPanel was gone, and emails were bounced. So I promptly cancelled my payment arrangements, and contacted the company he was a reseller for, and have got full control of my own domain now.

Interestingly enough, his old domain is still live, but shows as a template generated auction site now, even more interesting, it now points to SH111 here. Maybe he saw the deals on offer and decided to jump ship too?

A word of warning that he was closing down would have been nice though.

Panicdoll, I think you and I were with the same host! I'm on the tfl.org boards too. Heh, I posted about the one love sale there.

Well I am *going* to leave my old host when my hosting expires in October but I'd thought that I'd be an early bird and start writing here.

My current host is...not to say the worst or anything but MYSQL is a little slow at the moment. I will move out because I miss cpanel as well!

I left my previous host because their support took a week to answer my doubts.
A few days ago, I send them a ticket saying that I want to cancel my account, they said "Sure, we will cancel your account" and that's it. Not even a word of thank for using their service so far. For now, Surpass is currently my second host.

I left my previous host around a year ago, and the reason I left wasn't really because they were unsupportive (actually, I can't remember ha) but because I saw Surpasses prices - we bought the OC10 plan, and for that same space/bandwidth on the other host ... actually they didn't have that big of a plan, the biggest plan they had was 4GB and I would have ended up paying 340$ a year for it, and that just wasn't going to happen. I was lucky to find Surpass, and I absolutely love it.
