Well, I haven't said why I left my hosts yet, so I might as well. I was on two hosts for about a year prior to signing up here.
The first was LVCS.net, which was somewhat decent. They had their problems such as blank pages at times, poor uptime, and eventually a server fire in the datacenter with no backups. So I lost all my work and went looking for another host. ![]() Then I found AventureHost... and got suckered into buying a reseller package from them. This time, because of cost, my Dad and I paired up for more cost effective hosting of both our sites and had some really bad experiences. One of which was migration of our hosting from the US to the UK without checking to see if it was okay with us. Later on, it they migrated us back and killed almost 2 months of work on my site. I won't post the whole slew of what went wrong.But... after two poor hosts we got lucky and got a BOGO deal here with Surpass. For an absolute hosting bargain! ![]() |

My previous host was Ok for a few months until it started having downtimes, Every day my site was down for 3-5 hours. I sent in a support ticket twice, waited 2 whole weeks and no response so I decided to cancel.

several bad experiences.
I had about 7 hosts and none were reliable. Then on the last one before I found surpass they just vanished. I woke up one morning and everything was gone. Nothing void cold damp spooky darkness I found out later they had sold the company but did not bother to tell any of their customers. So I used several free servers for a while and then got serious about my website and found surpass on WTH forums and decided to give them a try that was quite a while ago and even though due to finances I had to leave a couple of times I am now back and plan on staying as my ebook business is doing very nicely. I just recommended a friend from Australia to surpass. Sure I have been frustrated with support at times but as I posted to Kayla yesterday the problems are so minor that I still am a BIG fan of surpass. I think I have only had one major item come up that was a billing issue and my site was down (Turns out I um er eh sent payment to the wrong address opps)
Thanks Surpass Keep up the good work! Bernie duxbookstore.com kickbuttebooks.com yourebookbargains.com |

What made me leave my previous host(s)?? Name it. LOL. Anything and everything and everything in between. But mostly, shitty customer support (excuse the French). But seriously. I have never dealt with such morons in my life! Not just morons, but tickets would be opened for weeks before I would get a reply, IF I ever got one. Problems remained unfixed unless I figured it out on my own.
So THANK YOU for your good customer support, even if I don't like what I hear sometimes, at least you are there to reply and that makes me happy ![]() |

I used to use Cirtexhosting, but they had a few minutes of downtime everyday, but when I checked with Surpass, they had very little downtime during the course of single month, so I decided to switch. I haven't switched just yet, but I'm currently in the process of switching. I'm waiting for Surpass to email me back with all my login information.
They also have more to offer then my old host did. |

Still in the process of switching. My previous host used to be very good in sorting problems and had a good range of features. Over the years stuff stopped working and support became non-existing while the server is showing signs of age and overselling. Time to move before it sinks. Getting fed up of my customers phoning me when the websites are down again.

Had/tried several hosts over the past couple of years mostly UK based, and most where absolutely rubbish, downtime, unresponsive support and non english speaking, illegal terms, no access to ftp, always making it sound like it's your fault if there's an error....the usual crapola, so decided to start using hosting based in the USA, cheaper, better value, more reliable, better infrastructure, better support.
Currently using Surpass for testing and will eventually set up one full time site here, and have another site with another USA based company that has staff in the UK and actually phone you if there are any major problems, the UK seems years behind in comparison. Keep up the good work. Leon |

I left because I had multiple domains and I wanted to resell space and their resellers were pricey for what they were offering. 1 GB of space for $20...and I got so much more for just $35 here? I don't think so, lol.
