I have been a website administrator for a bit over a year and a half now. During that time I went through two bad hosts, the first having a server fire and no backups, the second was just a terrible host. If you are curious about who the second host is you may read my review of them elsewhere, as that is not the purpose of this thread.
I am a student and freelance web developer/designer and do not have that much money in my budget that I can consider "expendable". Understandably this impacts the webhosts I choose and the deals I search for. Right as I found Surpass my father and I were co-hosting, sharing a package, on the second host and having some severe problems. I just happened across Surpass and started reading about it, and the more I read the more I liked. A promotional sale of "Buy on Get one Free" was on, and so I investigated the details more closely. I had been concerned that it was only for a year, but my fears were relieved when I saw that it was for the life of the original package! I split the cost with my father once more and we purchased the Power package, which at that time came with 5gb of storage and about 250gb of bandwidth. Since then, I have not had a bad moment with Surpass. Not one, not ever. It is about six months into our hosting with Surpass, and all I can say is WOW. The support is top notch! The systems administrators may be predominantly in India, at least the ones I got, but they are very intelligent people and know exactly what they are doing. No problem withstood more than two days of communication, because of the 12.5 hour time difference, and my site and my father's site were online in record time. And recently I was flabbergasted by a package upgrade to 200gb diskspace (4000% increase, FYI) and 2tb (800% increase) of bandwidth for free! We haven't even noticed a moment's downtime in the six months we've been Surpass customers. Surpass ROCKS! ![]() |

Glad to hear you are happy... (so am I)...
btw: I don't believe any of the Support Staff is in India, to my knowledge they all work in Orlando, Florida.

All of our system admins work locally in Orlando at our data center, but we do have some remote techs that perform certain tasks on servers and do third level tickets.

Surpass is great. I left back in 2005 and it was a mistake. I am hoping to get a new account. No other host has surpassed my expectations - only SurpassHosting.

Surpass is really great.
I left for a bit, then came back. I had the really old light plan, and outgrew it. I didn't want to have to pay more than I already was. So I left to another host (which was really bad). And then I came back, but I had to to limit my visits to starbucks. |

Oh yes, I am very happy. When I saw the message about the recent upgrade Surpass made my day completely. Right now I have no desire to ever look for another host.
I find it an interesting coincidence that most the techs are in Orlando, while two or three times we got someone out in India. Like I said, it wasn't a biggie because they still knew what they were doing. |
