Smile 9/10 on the Pizza Meter

[b]Having been with Surpass now for over a year, I figured it was time to "tell all " about my experiences.

I started my initial account with a reseller, moved to a VPS about 5 months later, then about 3 months ago, moved up to a dedicated server. For the ADD reading this, the bottom line is that both service and support have been excellent.

My review is in Q&A format to make it easier for me to write and organize.

What made you choose Surpass?
My previous host left me feeling like I was not getting enough for my money. Not that they were "bad" -- just felt that I was paying too much for what I was getting.

I was (am) an active member of Broadband Reports (http://www.dslreports.com) and started browsing the webhost forum there. I started checking out some of the popularg hosts mentioned there, which included Surpass.

Pricing at the time was roughly equivalent between the hosts I was looking at - what made me choose Surpass was the community. Their forum boards seemed to be full of helpful people and it was active.

The online ordering process was generally quick and easy; given that I was still a fairly new web noob back then, what would have made it even better would to have more communication about what would happen next, what to expect, and perhaps a pointer to a FAQ of next steps once the account is open.

ORDERING: 9 of 10 points
(When I ordered back when, new account setup was a lot faster I think)

How has your support experience been?
Over the year+ I have been with Surpass, I have put in roughly 10 tickets.

Easy stuff: When I was on my reseller account, I needed support to change ownership of files a couple of times. Responses to the tickets were quick and the work completed within about 30 minutes.

Middle of the road stuff: When I moved to my VPS box, I needed accounts moved over which were handled quickly. Also had an email issue that took some trouble shooting time on their part ? I would say ticket to problem resolution ran about 2 hours.

Scary stuff: When I moved dedicated, support again needed to move accounts which were done quickly and without issue. More telling was a recent ticket I filed after I tried to install some software to the server. Bad things happened. I filed a ticket and I swear, within 10 minutes, the tech emailed me back, told me what I did wrong and how to fix it. Given that my site was unreachable at the time, I really appreciated the quick and knowledgeable response.

I know that Surpass support can be hit or miss with some folks, but I can only speak from my own personal experience.

SUPPORT: 10 of 10 points

How has your overall experience been at Surpass?
What can I say?.I think that Surpass is great! why?.....From my interactions with Surpass both in the forums and via email, I believe that they are truly interested in wanting to satisfy their customers needs. Are there hiccups, sure, but in the end, they really want to do a good job. How rare is that these days!

OVERALL SCORE: 9 of 10 points (there?s always room for improvement)

PROs: Good pricing, good value, generally fast support
CONs: My biggest fear with Surpass is that they will grow too big and lose what got them there.

I would also like to thank Kayla and Eman for the support and service "over and above " that I have experienced.

Your title makes me want to get pizza for lunch today.

Nice review and yes, Surpass is not nly unique for their competive prices and services, but also tha tthey think of the customer over the money (in terms of understanding situations of the customer and adjusting)
