Well just over a year ago I was looking for alternative hosting and came across Surpass, and the infamous $1 a year deal (Shared) so I thought I'd try it for what it costs nothing to lose, in the mean time I found another host for one of my main sites, so decided to use Surpass as a testing server for my installs on the other server which included WP and Gallery2 so I could check any changes (code, themes, etc.... to make sure they worked before using them in live environment.

All I can say is it's been pretty good, not had any real concerns (usual tech probs with www aside) and all support issues (all 3 of them I think, phew! (the last one regarding downtime was last May) have gone smoothly, even a recent domain change was painless (ish

[But] There's always a but isn't there (well nobody is perfect! ; ) and mine is, not sure why you need to pay for a domain change when I've never been charged before by any other host I've used, that small point stands out because of the fact "I've never been charged before by any other host I've used" [/But]

So a year later, the test sites have gone and it's now being used for a live site, early days but going off previous experience not expecting any major hiccups (famous last words!) and feel confident if anything does happen it will be sorted.

Thanks to the support staff who have responded promptly and politely.

All I can add is I am speaking from my own experience and maybe just fortunate enough to be on a good server with good accounts but considering the many things that can affect a shared account, no complaints here.
