I was on a host that kept going down and they refused to help me on my problems. They were quite rude about not helping as well. So I shut down my site and cut off the hosting, they wouldn't give me my money back like they promised.

Bobbonew (stickypapers.com) told me about this place, so I opened up an account and started a new site.

ok so here's what happened with my site... I was on a host that was pretty much dead on their forums, claimed they owned their own servers, but personally, i think they actually owned their servers, but were doing the collocation thing with somebody, as they had no real idea what was going on with them... the plans I paid the same here for about 1/32 of the space/bandwidth. the servers were frequently going down or slow, and i was not having fun. then a CSR on Star Wars Galaxies let me know where she hosted her sites (here), so i decided i'd check it out..... it blew my mind that i could get all this stuff here (even though i dont use most of it), so i sent in a nice letter to my old host letting them know that i found somebody that has better plans than they do, and ill be moving, thanks for the service. now i can take over the world, on my old host, taking over the world was not an option... on surpass, i get that nice little "Take over the world" button in the cPanel... oh wait... thats something only I get on my cPanel isnt it....

edit: gotta love no organization in my posts... or not...

I was on some free host, which had frequent downtimes. Then, I got hosted by someone who used to be hosted on Fresh. But he was odd, and had bought the $230 package when he only needed the $40 (Lite) one, and complained about how he couldn't pay that much, and decided to het his account expire. So I figured it was time to buy an account of my own, and here I am. Much better, and my experience with my friend on here has given me experience with CPanel.

My previous host tried to host a shell company AND a web hosting service on a partial T1 line. It was horrible. Every few seconds, it would freeze for a while. So when people visit at the wrong time, their connection will time out.

What's sad was that they had a "Business" plan. How could anyone run a business with that garbage?

And yes, surpass gives way more than I need. I usually use less than 15% of my bandwidth and around 20% of my disk space. But it gives me bragging rights though.
