vocal is back online now. The SATA cables and battery in the RAID card needed to be replaced. All is well now!

Restore Scheduled
Hello fellow Surmunitarians -
vocal.surpasshosting.com (72.29.74.35) has been scheduled for a restore on Friday, April 11th, 2008. We will be starting promptly at 10PM, thus allowing ourselves enough time to get sites online by the morning. Vocal has had a history of some file-system errors already, but most importantly, we're going to be upgrading the drive, as there are only a few gigabytes of storage space left. After the restoration process is completed, myself or a member of the team will update this post letting everyone know of the current status. Afterwards, if you experience any issues with your site, please open a ticket with our helpdesk ( http://desk.surpasshosting.com ) Kind regards, Jared

The restore for vocal.surpasshosting.com (72.29.74.35) will be started shortly. We have taken all the necessary precautions to ensure that this restore goes as smooth as possible. However due to the fact there is 170GB of data to be restore we expect the restore to take at least 12-14hrs. We will try our best to minimize this downtime. The restore is going great so far we're at 15% completion. At this point, a relatively rough ETA for completion is 8-10 hours. We'll update you once further progress is made with the restore. |

Vocal Maintenance - Upgrade to MySQL 5 and PHP 5
Friday night, May 16th we will be upgrading PHP and MySQL to version 5 on vocal.surpasshosting.com.
There will be some minimum downtime past 12am EST. |
