Great! Be sure to look around the web hosting tutorial board and the all things techy board for WHMCS tutorials and if you have any suggestions for any, please do not hesitate to comment about it or ask! =)

After 3 months wait for Surpass Support team I had to make this public, maybe someone with a better understanding or a similar experience can shed some light on this issue and get it resolved.
Here is a brief summary to this ongoing major problem. 4 months ago there was a major security only update on pass43 (still no PHP5 or MySQL upgrade, up to now). After this, my 2 year owned WHCMS stopped creating accounts, suspending or terminating accounts or registering domains. Since I have NINE - OC10 accounts and a few hundred customers, I have been trying to do the all the ordering/support/account management and billing manually, which is why I bought the billing solution not to deal with those issues and was happy using it. After 3 version upgrades from WHMCS and lots of testing from their brilliant support team (my appreciation goes to Matt's team for their patience) the system still doesn't work. The original ticket on this issue with Surppas Support was opened 3 Mar 2008 with the ticked ID: KGW-390074. After lots of useless suggestions and attempts, I was eventually told to be patient! After 3 months what kind of patience do I have to prove I don't know, since I am the one loosing time and money! That sounded a bit of "we don't care" attitude. According to chief programmer of WHCMS the issue is very easy to solve. Here is what he says: You need to make sure the firewall is not blocking the following ports: Port: 55000, 55443, 2086 According to Surpass Support they are all open! What ever who says what, the WHMCS is not working as it was before. That's what I know. Any suggestions are welcome, I am desperate to get this issue resolved.

Sounds to me like a permissions problem. Since PHPSuExec is not enabled on your server yet, do you have your permissions set to 777? I know WHMCS requires this at the beginning of the install, which lets the script work on its own.
Also I confirmed with support that those ports are indeed open on your server. |

Thanks for the reply Roxy.
Since all the installations/upgrades are always done by the WHMCS team I hadn't looked at it. However, I have checked upon your suggestion and yes all the permissions are set correctly. You have mentioned PHPSuExec, this is the only host out of my 8 other Surpass hosts which doesn't have the PHPSuExec and is still running on PHP 4 and MySQL 4, I wonder when these upgrades will be implemented. I wish they haven't done that "security upgrade" 4 months ago, since that upgrade, the WHMCS stopped and I had to make changes to most of the accounts on that host to get them working. Looking for to read your other suggestions

These past few months we have been updating all the servers in our DC, so you can imagen how long it can take since we have so many to upgrade.
I would suggest asking support if it were possible to move your account onto a server that has PHPSuExec and PHP5 on it already. I'm sure they can take care of this for you. =) |

Just a quick update, the WHMCS started working again.
I don't know what they have changed in the server but all looks good for now.
