[Reseller] Creating Unique Cpanel Themes within WHM
The process is called branding and WHM gives you the option to create a unique theme for cPanel that your clients can choose from or you can make default when they log into their cPanel.
Once you are logged into WHM, scroll to the bottom, until you find the category "cPanel". The very first link is what you will be clicking on called "Branding". ![]() On that page, it will give you a short briefing of what branding is all about. At the bottom, you will see a few links that says (edit) next to each one. Click on the first one. ![]() You will then be brought to the themes page where all the themes currently available on cPanel show. ![]() Below the theme you would like to edit, (I went with one of the really ugly ones, like "tealmadness"), click in the link below it that says "Edit this style". ![]() Once on the Edit page, you will notice the theme for the one your editing shows up and there are a list of links. ![]() There are a few ways to edit the theme to your liking. One being editing the HTML and CSS files, or just uploading and editing the images. If you are familiar with HTML and CSS coding, I would go to that root when editing the theme. Its much quicker and you have more control of where and what you'd like the theme to look like. Now if you're not, then going with the simple image changes they offer, but keep the overall layout intact is ok too. That is why they are separated into two categories, "Basic Branding Editor" and "Advanced Branding Editor". Now let's go through the editing options. We'll start with the Basic category first. The first link up is "Edit Logos". When you click on this page, you will notice that you are taken to where the images for the Cpanel logo are. ![]() Something you might not notice right away is on at the very top, where the cPanel logo is, you are able to move it around by clicking it and dragging it. You are also able to make it bigger or smaller. ![]() Once you are done messing around with that nifty feature, go back to the main editing page. Click on the next link: "Edit Icons". Here you will notice all of the icons used on cPanel. If have made custom ones to fit your style or just for fun. You are able to upload them here. ![]() Back on the editing page, click on the next link which is "Edit header/footer". On this page it is strictly for editing only the images of the header and footer. ![]() Going back to the editing page, click on the link called "Edit preview images". On this page its for editing the image screenshot/preview of the Cpanel. Change the images when you have already completed your new theme. ![]() Now we will get into the Advanced editing category, although its pretty self-explanatory. Click on the first link which is "Edit HTML pages". On this page you will see a small list of different sections that you can edit. Make sure that you know what your are doing before editing anything within this file. One little mistake can ruin the whole page. ![]() The next and last link on the editing page is the "Edit style-sheet" link. Click on it. On this page it'll take to straight to the global CSS file. Again, make sure that you know what your are doing before editing anything within this file. One little mistake can ruin the whole page. ![]() As a side note, you are also able to get to the "branding page" within your account's cPanel. You will see the icon under the "Preferences" category. ![]() Be sure to save everything you do along the way. Good luck! |
