[All] Password Protecting Directories!
A wonderful feature in keeping your files and folders safe from prying eyes would be the password protect feature within cPanel.
Logging into your cPanel, scroll down to the security category and click on the Password Protect Directories icon. ![]() You'll then be taken to a page with a list of all folders/directories under your root. Click the one you'd like to set a password for. ![]() The next page is where you will enable the password protect feature for the directory chosen. So click on the radio button in the gray box and fill in the name for the directory and click the button. ![]() Then its time to setup the user(s) you'd like to have access to the password protected directory. ![]() They will be added to the box above, where they can be easily deleted. ![]() Lastly, try it out in your browser to make sure it works properly. If when you go to the URL a user/pass box appears, then the process was a success! =) ![]() |
