[Dedicated - cPanel] Forceful or Graceful Server Reboot!
Forceful Server Reboot
Warning: This is intended as a last ditch effort. If you know what you are doing then continue on, otherwise please contact the Help Desk. It is recommended that you first try a Graceful Server Reboot before a Forceful Server Reboot. There are many circumstances that can be resolved before having to force a reboot of your Web Server. Like mentioned above, if you are unfamiliar with what you are doing it doesn't hurt to contact the Help Desk for some guidance. However if you wish to continue with the Forceful Server Reboot please proceed: 1. Navigate to the System Reboot Section of the WHM Sidebar. Forceful Server Reboot Forceful Server Reboot 2. Click on Forceful Server Reboot 3. Read the Warning... and if you are absolutely sure, press OK Servers take longer to reboot than personal computers so don't be alarmed if you can't log back into WHM in 45 minutes. When your server comes back online you should check and make sure that all applications are running within it and that nothing has failed. If for some reason applications failed to boot you can try and restart each one manually in the Restart Services Section of the WHM Sidebar. If the Forceful Server Roboot was unsuccessful or you are having trouble with some of your applications rebooting, you will need to contact the Help Desk for further support. Graceful Server Reboot Important: You should always attempt a Graceful Server Reboot before a Forceful Server Reboot. 1. Navigate to the System Reboot Section of the WHM Sidebar. 2. Umm, not intending to complain... but why do almost all [Dedicated] posts have the assumption you're using CPanel w/ WHM?
It's very much possible to reboot a machine via command-line, where's the tip for that? |

All of the dedicated post, I took from the wiki, so I didn't write them, but I will look into the command-line tip and post that up also. =)

Ahh ok, I wasn't sure of the source. Just found it kind of frustrating seeing something that might be bookmark worthy, but it requires CPanel. I mean, generally I could Google for the solution, but why not include the alternative for us folks that don't like/want/need CPanel?
