IE colume problems

hello i am haveing majore issues i design a page layout with a two colume setup. it is working great in fire fox but when i take a look in internet expoler the right colume is below the left colume. do you guy now how i can fix this

I can see an empty div -

which seems to be a second colum in both IE and FF
