Domain Registrars

are there any FREE domain registrars that work with WHMCS? Most of these domain resellers require deposits that are absurd amounts for the few domains I will register

No. Because you'd need to pay the ICANN fee regardless.

There are some cheap registrars out there, 1&1 and Domains are Free come to mind. I've never personally used either, but my friend Zach uses 1&1.

I personally use the manual registration. Meaning that I just receive a e-mail when my customers want to order a domain and then I will go to Godaddy and register it for them.

I'm in the same boat as you, I don't get a lot of domain registrations so I don't want to deposit $xxx's when it might take a year or two to use it up.

The ting to watch out with a few such as 1 and 1 / pipex / thus is that many are now charging £39+vat ($95-) to release or move domains.

Our registrar accounts are a flat $99- a year, there is no deposit, you decide the prices (above trade) and it is up to you whether you allow customers to register, buy and do the work or if you want to do it all yourself, it also has all the billing done so all you receive is the profit.

You should try being a reseller of WHMCS. They're a reseller of Directi and you can resell the domains $7.5 each. No signup fee at all.

$7.5 is the price you get it from them. Add your profit and sell them.

I guess I'm stupid, but I'm failing to see the point here, you could buy domains lots of places (GoDaddy for instance) for $7.50ish.
